Old Economy Village will have 19th century trade demonstrations and other exciting activities every Saturday from April through September. Today’s topic is the natural history museum. Under the direction of Dr. Johann Christoph Muller, the Harmony Society operated a public museum from the mid-1820s until it closed in 1850. It was the first of its kind west of the Allegheny Mountains.
The interpreters will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To enter the Village, Visitors must first pay admission at the Visitor Center, 270 16th St., Ambridge, PA 15003. We encourage visitors to take a tour of the Village to understand the unique story of the Harmony Society. Tour times are 10:30 a.m., Noon, 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. If people want to wander through the grounds they are allowed to do so with a regular admission fee.
