Manuscript Group 330 – Knoedler Family Collection; 1900 – 1940, 4 cu. ft.

John Frederick Knoedler (b. 1883, d. 1936) was caretaker of the Harmony Society, ca. 1905-1916, treasurer of the Harmony Associates, Justice of the Peace in Economy Township, and Tax Collector of Harmony Township, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, ca. 1891-1908.These are primarily financial records of the Harmony Society Historical Association, ca. 1902-1940, and include cash account books, 1902-1929; receipt books, 1927-1930, 1934-1940; business letters, 1910-1937, and other miscellaneous business records. Also included are personal letters and postcards to Knoedler and his wife, Christiana, many in German, 1910-1936, and Justice of the Peace dockets, 1917-1923.

The Knoedler Family Collection has been transferred to the PHMC’s Old Economy Village Historic Site.
