See the process of making textiles.  The Harmonists were known worldwide for their quality cloth.  They crossbred merino sheep from Spain with local sheep.  The Harmony Society purchased cotton from the south and raised silk worms to make silk fabrics.  The cotton and woolen mills closed about 1845, and the silk mill closed about 1855.
