Join us every weekend during the holiday season from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 22, to visit our historic 19th-century village decorated for Christmas. See the festive decorations and holiday lights while taking a tour and learning about the history of the Harmony Society and this unique site. It's a seasonal experience that the whole family will remember.

 

Old Economy features 17 historic buildings surrounded by gardens located 18 miles northwest of Pittsburgh along the Ohio River in the Borough of Ambridge.

Join us each weekend from Friday November 30th to Saturday December 14th at Old Economy Village to celebrate our Festival of Trees! See beautiful trees decorated by local individuals, businesses, and organizations! Trees will be auctioned off Saturday, December 14th. More details to follow!

 

Funds raised by the festival support education efforts of the Friends of Old Economy.

Come and enjoy the sounds, scents, and sights of the holidays at Old Economy Village’s signature holiday event, Christmas at the Village, featuring local musical performances, holiday lights, and Christmas decorations. Explore our German Weihnachts Holiday Market, participate in kids' crafts and activities, and even meet Belsnickel, the Pennsylvania Dutch Santa Claus, who will reveal whether you're on the naughty or nice list.

Christmas Dinner

Join us for a memorable evening in our Historic Feast Hall. Christmas Dinner serves as Old Economy Village's principal annual fundraiser, supporting our educational and community programs. This event is a festive highlight, showcasing a performance of holiday songs by The Pittsburgh Opera, with sponsorship from the Ambridge Regional Distribution & Manufacturing Center in our historic Feast Hall.

 

The evening will commence with wine and hors d'oeuvres at 6:00, followed by dinner at 7:00, and culminating with the performance.

Homeschool Holiday

​​December 13th 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

 

Old Economy Village's Homeschool Days feature special activities that have been designed with homeschool students and homeschooling families in mind.

 

Experience the “Village” in all its holiday splendor while learning about holiday life in the 1830s. Enjoy holiday stories and themed activities as well as a chance to meet Belsnickel, the German keeper of the Naughty and Nice book. The buildings will be decorated and open for families to explore and tour throughout the day. There will be a variety of demonstrations and holiday hands-on activities throughout the village for families to see and do.
