Camp is designed for children ages 6 to 12. Six-year-old children, must have completed Kindergarten to attend camp.
Retired Art Teacher, Dee Ruckert will be conducting the History Camps at Old Economy Village. Children will get a chance to meet the curator and museum educator to see some special artifacts and tour various parts of the village. Children will meet different trades people such as a weaver and silk reeler and try their hand at these historical trades. They will do some gardening and bake in the outdoor bake oven. They will learn about dying cloth and make a tie dye shirt. Other activities will be finger weaving, painting and foil embossing. They will get a chance to visit several of the historic buildings and see other artisan demonstrators.
For members (of F.O.E.V.) the cost is $40 for the first child and $35 for each additional child.
For non-members the cost is $50 for the first child and $45 for each additional child.
